Yakou Tsuchimikado (土御門 夜光 Tsuchimikado Yakou?) was a genius Onmyouji and visionary who had appeared in the midst of the Great Pacific War and would be known as the father of modern Onmyoudo.

Overview[]

Appearance[]

Although not much is known of Yakou Tsuchimikado's appearance, a short scene revealed that his physical appearance resembles Harutora Tsuchimikado's while his hair color resembles Natsume Tsuchimikado's.

Personality[]

Background[]

It was through his actions that the art of Onmyoudo was able to revitalize itself in Japan by creating a new foundation, attaining him fame as well as many followers. A key figure in Japanese Imperial Army, his leadership in Onmyo Agency won the military and the country many victories. However it was also he who caused the Great Spiritual Disaster which brought about the country's immediate downfall in the war. Despite the controversy that had arisen towards him in the aftermath of this, his legacy is still enormously respected and revered. Little is known of what happened to him afterwards, but there are many who theorize that his Taizan Fukun Ritual may not have necessarily failed and that he actually reincarnated. These theories and rumors further fuelled by divination, predicted that Yakou would reincarnate himself half a century later to the next head of the Tsuchimikado household to whom his powers have blossomed in and once again rise up to lead the Onmyouji into a new era. Many of those who are strongly devoted to him refer to Yakou as the King of the North Star/Polaris King. He always wore his Raven's Wing, a Raven coat, that could potentially be used to correctly identify his reincarnation.

It is later revealed that Yakou's ritual was successful and that Harutora is his reincarnation.
